Vanhaus

Vanhaus is a lodge in Ta Van, 6.5 km south-east of Sa Pa town, with rooms offering mountain, garden or inner-courtyard views. The Mường Hoa valley setting places the lodge among villages and rice terraces, while Sa Pa’s town sights are several kilometres away.

The accommodation comprises double rooms and a twin room for up to two people, with sizes of 12 or 16 m². Some rooms have private bathrooms and others share bathroom facilities; balconies, terraces and different outlooks distinguish the options. At the restaurant, breakfast choices include vegetarian, vegan and Asian food, and room service is available. Guests can use the garden and terrace, while reception staff speak English and Vietnamese. Free WiFi is available throughout the lodge, and public paid parking is nearby. Tả Van village is 500 m away and Lao Chai is 2 km from the lodge.

The six room entries at Vanhaus comprise double rooms and a standard twin, each with capacity for two people. Room sizes range from 12 to 16 m². Four of the six entries are private-bathroom options, while a double room and the standard twin have shared bathroom facilities. Most double rooms have a large king-size bed; the balcony room has a double bed, and the twin room has two single beds.

Views vary across the range: mountain views feature in several rooms, while one room also faces the garden and inner courtyard. Other room distinctions include a balcony and terrace, or a seating area overlooking the inner courtyard. Room fittings include showers, bidets, slippers and free toiletries. The options differ in bathroom privacy, outlook and layout rather than in capacity, which is two people throughout.

Vanhaus has an on-site restaurant whose breakfast choices cover vegetarian, vegan and Asian styles; room service is also available for dining in your accommodation. Free WiFi is offered in every area of the property, so access is not confined to public spaces. The garden and terrace are both part of the lodge’s outdoor facilities. General amenities include a fan, family rooms and non-smoking rooms, while smoking is prohibited throughout the lodge.

Private bathrooms are available in some room categories, alongside showers, bidets, towels, slippers, free toiletries, linen and toilet paper. A socket is provided near the bed. Paid public parking is available nearby for 50 VND per day; you can use it without arranging a reservation before arrival.

Vanhaus is in Ta Van, on the south-eastern side of the Mường Hoa valley, about 6.5 km from Sa Pa town. The settlement is characterised by terraced slopes and villages rather than the compact streets of the town. Tả Van village is 500 m from the lodge; Lao Chai and Hâu Thào villages are each 2 km away. Walking routes link the hamlets with the valley floor, where Hmong, Giay and Red Dao communities live and the Mường Hoa river runs past rice terraces.

Sa Pa Bus Station is 6.4 km from Vanhaus, and HasonHaivan Bus is 6 km away. From Hanoi, sleeper buses reach Sa Pa in five to six hours, while Noi Bai Airport is about 320 km from the town. A taxi can cover the onward trip from either bus stop into Ta Van. Paid public parking is available nearby, and no reservation is needed.

Valley outings include Waterfall Quy Khach, 1.5 km away, and Muong Hoa Valley, a viewpoint 2.2 km from the lodge. For a trip towards Sa Pa centre, Sa Pa Lake is 6.4 km away and Ham Rong Garden - Ham Rong Mountain is 6 km away; Sa Pa Stone Church and the Sun World Fansipan cable car are also in or beside the centre. Walking the valley paths takes you past rice terraces and villages. The fields are green from June to August and turn golden at harvest in September and early October. June to August is the wettest period, while March to May and September to November are generally more settled. Winter, from December to February, is cold and often foggy.
